How A Word Processing Software Should Be? – Taking Technology To Next Level

Don’t tell me what are word processing softwares. Those are kind of Microsoft Word or something like Word Pad. But today, with increasing needs, available word processing softwares are not enough. I being a software developer, had planned several times to design a word processing software but I failed due to lack of time. However, I still have some idea about building a word processing software. Let’s begin.

• Firstly, I would highly recommend, as my all of the softwares are, it should have elegant design with lots of themes to set along with lots of transitions.
• Secondly, I would like to have tabbed interface for quicker access. It would provide a lot of ease of access to tools.
• Tabs should have an additional tab titled as ‘Recent’ which would contain all the recently used tools.
• The word processing software should be able to integrate worksheets into document. Unlike simple tables, worksheets should be capable to use excel complex functions and many more. The worksheets should be integrated in such a way that as soon as you focus on the worksheet, the row and column names should pop out. If you remove the focus, it should disappear.
• It should also be able to refresh the worksheet automatically, so that as soon as you change the formulae or values, it should recalculate that portion immediately.
• I would also like to integrate various things like presentations and web pages directly in the document. Web pages should appear within the document in a box, and in such a dynamic way that as soon as you click any of the hyperlinks, the next page should appear within the box and not the whole page. The whole page should remain as it is.
• It should also have the capability to correctly identify the grammatical errors. I would also like to integrate an executable file(.exe) within the document, so that explanation of softwares becomes easy. I think that this is a bit hard because to integrate an executable, you need to integrate all the supporting files within the document. This greatly increases the document size but the facility should be there.
• I know that these all features make the document very similar to web page, but it should be a document. Yes and one more, it should have the feature similar to feature in Apple Safari 3.2 which makes the text easier to read.
• With all these features, it makes it very slow to load the program in low-end machines. So, I would like to make it some easy to load it. When you start the application, it should display options as ‘Letter mode’ and ‘Dynamic Mode’. If the user wants to write a simple letter, it should load simply the normal plugins used to write letter. If the user chooses dynamic mode, then it should quickly load basic interface and then all the other processes should run in background. As one by one processes get loaded, their corresponding buttons should begin being visible.

Just think, how cool it will be to have a word processing software with all these features? I am planning to create such a software, but because of various hurdles, I am unable to create one.
